Hello and Thank You for visiting me here!
I love color and paint!
As long as I can remember creating has always been a part of my life. I have experimented with all types of materials, so being a mixed media artist was something I fell into naturally. By using a mixture of media in my work it allows me to paint freely without boundaries. My art is created through the use of emotion, color and materials inspired by my surroundings. I use heavy bodied and fluid acrylic paint, watercolor, ink, paper, charcoal, oil and wax pastels, paint markers and spray paint.
The changes of nature, the rhythm of the seasons, the sheer power and strength in the waves, the beauty of animals, and even sound inspire the creation of my work. All of these natural elements continually influence how I feel, and in turn how my creativity manifests itself on my canvas.
The ocean and its ever changing ebb and flow continues to influence my work. The sand connects me to the earth and I feel its grounding effect. The changing beauty of sunrises and sunsets never cease to amaze me. I love that one day the sunset can be soft shades of yellow and gold with lavender skies, and the next day hot pink and orange with blue skies. Beautiful colors vibrant and saturated, soft and diffused. The changing seasons bringing new color palettes for us to feast our eyes on.
Color can makes you feel many emotions. Happy and energized, calm and relaxed, powerful and inspired. Just thinking about color makes me smile! Im never afraid to experience it, in fact, I embrace it, and I invite you to do the same! My love of natural elements and the colors that grace it, deepens everyday. I love their beauty and I feel so much gratitude for this gift from above.
The use of light and diffused color, and vibrant and bold color embodies the juxtapositions of the moments in our lives. As we move through life we have many colored experiences, light-hearted, vibrant, happy, intense, contemplative, and even explosive times. This is the flow of life, and the flow of my creativity.
